Colonel Robbie Hall will tell his story of how God helped him train Bomb Disposal Specialists and the difficulties they faced in Afghanistan. Robbie’s story covers his coming to faith and provides a snapshot of the crucial work undertaken by bomb disposal specialists.
He once led a team to defuse an old German bomb discovered near a gasometer at East Beckford (London). It became the subject of one of Michael Buerk’s 999 Programmes. Colonel Hall and the two non-commissioned officers who worked with him were sent to Buckingham Palace to receive the Queen’s Gallantry Medal
Involved in various aspects of Bomb Disposal, both on land and sea for most of his 37 years’ service, Robbie’s final task was to command the training organisation for all 3 Services Bomb Disposal specialists, charged with finding and training sufficient high-threat operators to cope with the daunting IED threat in Afghanistan.
